Tottenham vibes

Tottenham, it’s a pleasure to be here. Roller Nation, The Cause, Five Miles and plenty more are smashing it in this part of town — now it’s your turn with these new studios. There’s a bunch of spots near the studios too if you’re looking to grab a breather between rehearsals. Take a look:

  • Zen Records: small shop, big taste in old and rare reggae, ska, soul, jungle — every UK sound under the sun, all under one roof
  • LOVEN presents: Neapolitan-style Italian restaurant with a massive menu for meaties and vegans
  • Cafe Lemon: proper brunch spot for all-day breakfasts
  • Walthamstow Wetlands: clear your head and stretch your legs, it's only a 20-minute walk from the studios

Getting here and access

The studio address is 2 Norman Rd, London, N15 4ND.

The studios will not be wheelchair accessible until an unforeseen issue with the site lift has been resolved. Rest assured, we are aiming to fix this as soon as possible — apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

The studios are a 5-minute walk from the closest station, Seven Sisters — a 20-minute tube journey from Oxford Circus. Buses stop at Seven Sisters station also.

Driving or cycling? We don't have any dedicated Pirate spaces, but you can park on Norman Road and in the surrounding area.

What is verification and how does it work?

Being verified unlocks extra features at Pirate, like Refer-a-Friend credits. You also need to have your identity verified before you book one of our DJ or recording studios, so it’s a worthwhile investment! Don’t worry, the process only takes two minutes.

TIP: Use your mobile, it's easier to get a clear shot of your face/document.

I'm having trouble with a code or lock — help?

Slow and gentle!  Our locks can be a little sensitive so put your code in slowly and as detailed on your booking — such as * 1 2 3 4 5 6. Don't forget the star!

You might be sent a four-digit code as a replacement for the booking, such as 1 2 3 4.  As above, press slowly and in this case, with no star, *.

If you're having trouble with the lock or code, please contact us and we'll help get you in as soon as possible.

What if something breaks or I need a spare?

Spares in every location! We carry lots of spares in our sites, just in case you need any further equipment or something has a fault.  You'll also find lots of spare cables and mics in our rehearsal studios if needed.

Something missing from the room or you need an item from the Spares cupboard? Hit us up on Live Chat via the website. We will be more than happy to help.

Set up your Pirate.com account

It takes less than two minutes to become a member:

  • Visit the account creation page.
  • Enter your details in each field. If you have a referral code from another Pirate customer, please enter it at this point.
  • Select Join Pirate.com and we’ll send you an SMS to confirm your mobile number. You’ll need to confirm this number before you can use your account.
  • Confirmed? You’re ready to book.

How do I book a session?

Our live booking calendar shows the latest availability of studios. You can book anywhere from a year in advance right up until a few minutes beforehand. Some studios are popular, so we recommend securing your slot in advance.

TIP: Book enough time to set-up and get comfortable with the gear, and set-up/pack-down anything you’ve brought along.

Can I hire extra equipment?

In the UK you can hire various pieces of equipment for your booking. Some gear is chargeable — we've outlined how to hire and costs below. In the US, DE and IE, our studios come fully equipped.

How to hire extra equipment

  • Make a booking (or if part of a band or group, find out the booking details from the account holder)
  • Note the location, studio number, date and time of your booking
  • Fill out the form here
  • If your item is chargeable, we'll automatically charge the card used to make the booking
  • We'll text you/the account holder with confirmation of the hire and the codes to access the Spares cupboard
  • If the item is unavailable, we'll let you know via text and let you know when it's next available
  • Once you've finished your session, simply use the same codes to return the item to the Spares cupboard

Chargeable
Cymbals — £5 per booking (no time limit)

Free
Cymbal stands, keyboards and stands, mics and stands (not condenser mics), music stands, headphones (but we do suggest you bring your own).

All items are subject to availability. Fill out the form if you're ready to hire.

Are food and drinks available at the studios?

A handful of locations do have vending machines but we suggest you bring your own food and drinks with you. Most Pirate sites are near local shops for convenience, and several sites have a kettle and microwave. Check out our support hub or the location page for your Pirate studio for further details.
