Frequently asked questions

How can I help keep myself and others safe?

You must adhere to government guidelines on physical distancing, staying two metres apart at all times. We'll be providing sanitation spray, paper towels and gloves at the studio, for use on-site (we know it may be tempting to take them with you, but removing these will result in a fine).

Before and after your session, please spray sanitiser onto the paper towel — and use it to wipe down any equipment or surfaces you come into contact with.

Of course, the best advice is to stay at home if you feel unwell.

For a full breakdown of the safety measures in place at your Pirate Studios, head to the corresponding link below:

What sort of cleaning are you doing?

Your safety and wellbeing is our highest priority – we wouldn’t do anything to put this at risk. All studios are cleaned and sanitised as often as possible, but it’s still crucial for you to wipe down and sanitise the kit at the beginning and end of each session. We provide gloves, spray and paper towels at every site.

For a full breakdown of the safety measures in place at your Pirate Studios, head to the corresponding link below:

What times will the studios be open?

We'll keep the latest information on this page. Keep checking back to see when your local studio is open.

How many people are allowed in each studio?

We have introduced several measures to help keep you as safe as possible. This includes limiting the number of people who can be in a studio at once and placing clear markings on floors to help you know what a safe distance is.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you've made a booking with us but have any symptoms (however mild), we'd ask that you please refrain from taking your booking.

If your booking is more than 12 hours away, you can easily cancel or move your booking in your account by going to 'My Bookings' and clicking on the relevant session.

If your booking is less than 12 hours away refunds are available or we can shift your booking to a later date — get in touch via Live Chat and we'll be happy to help.

Here’s how they look: check out the additional safety measures in place across all UK locations ahead of your visit.

Looking forward to seeing you back in the studios.

Extended opening hours & Glasgow safety updates

Last updated: 12:00 10/07/20

Hey Pirates,

The updates are coming in thick and fast at the moment.

Firstly, here's more good news affecting a host of spaces throughout the UK and EU, including 24/7 opening hours for all UK, IE & DE sites, with some restrictions for certain studio types as follows:

  • A DJ curfew of 7am - 1am on Saturdays and Sundays in the following areas:
    • Birmingham
    • Brighton & Hove
    • Liverpool
    • Manchester Salford
    • Manchester Cheetham Hill
    • Nottingham
    • Sheffield
  • A DJ curfew of 7am - 11pm at Glasgow
  • A rehearsal curfew of 7am - 7pm in studios 6, 7, 8, and 9 at Brighton & Hove
  • A rehearsal curfew of 7am - midnight at Manchester Salford

Secondly, Glasgow Pirates, on advice from Nicola Sturgeon we have introduced.a couple new safety measures which will come into play as today:

  • Up to 3 different households can make a booking
  • Face coverings to be worn in corridors, toilets or kitchen area at all times (bookings may be cancelled if not adhered to)

Once more, we'd just like to give a shout out to everyone who has been using the studios since the lockdown lift. Without your attention to and respect for the many new rulings, it just wouldn't be possible to keep your spaces open.

That's it for now. Keep your eyes on the Opening Status table above for all the latest information around your local site, and do get in touch if you have any questions. We are available throughout the day via the orange icon in the corner of your screen.

All the best,

Pirate

All of our studios globally will close from midnight tonight

Sunday 22nd March 2020

Hello everyone.

We’ve been thinking long and hard about this, and have decided that now is the right time to close our doors until further notice. From midnight tonight (23:59, 22 March 2020) you will not be able to access your local Pirate Studios

In respect of the advice from the UK government, as well as considering the overall global situation, we believe this is the best course of action to help keep our customers, our staff and the general public safe.

In these trying times, it is more important than ever to band together as artists, creatives, musicians, promotors, human beings. Let’s help one another, support each other online, and get creative.

With this in mind, we have decided to hand over our social channels to you, our community. We’ll be asking some of you to take over our Instagram account each day for the foreseeable future. We will be sharing your songs, content, gigs and live streams wherever you are able to create them. We encourage you to ask questions, have conversations, collaborate, connect and create with other members of the community. We want our online space to be your space, just like our studios.

We might be closed, but the energy shouldn’t fade. We still wanna hear and see what you’re making, as we always have.

Any questions? Please message us on live chat, we’ll be happy to talk about this further.
For anyone that has an upcoming booking that ends after midnight, you will be receiving a full refund in the next 48 hours.

One last thing: check on your loved ones, take necessary precautions, look after yourselves. It’ll get better. We’ll be open again before you know it, but for now: take it to the bedroom (for want of a better phrase).

We look forward to seeing what you guys come up with in the next couple of months. We have a feeling it’s gonna be huge.
